Tutorial for beginner (II)

How to control lyrics display ?

Adjust the size of your karaoke show using the border frame of the Theatre. Once you are satisfied with the size, right-click on the image and select from the Theatre popup menu to open Lyrics Options, and watch how lyrics display changes in real time when you change the font and its attributes (size, color and outline of different sections of lyrics) in the Font page as shown below.

Lyrics lines are usually displayed at the bottom, but you can adjust the display position and line spacing in the Layout -> Lines page of Lyrics Options as shown below. If lyrics are required to be displayed in more than 2 lines, select multi-line display in the Effect list and enter the required number of lines in the same page. Lyrics lines animation (zooming and shaking) can also be applied if lyrics are displayed as "multi-lines".

More lyrics animation can be applied through the Layout -> Focused Word page and the Layout -> Completed Words page of Lyrics Options. If you are not familiar with how lyrics animation is to be set, you can also apply a preset setting in the Layout -> Presets page as shown below, and then adjust the settings if required. The modified settings can also be saved into the presets list.

For less powerful computers, to maximize the performance when the frame rate drops (select from the Theatre popup menu to see the frame rate of animation), user should display less lyrics lines and apply less complicated lyrics animation such as 2 lines alternating with progressive coloring. System performance will also be greatly enhanced at lower screen resolution, such as 800 x 600.

Since Direct 3D support by graphic card is required for most of the lyrics animation functions, those who don't have it, please disable Use 3D animator for lyrics display in the System -> Drivers page of Preferences for better lyrics display.

How to save lyrics settings to a media file ?

Once you have decided your best style of lyrics display, close Lyrics Options and select from the Theatre popup menu to save your lyrics settings to the audio file. Note that lyrics settings should be saved when the media file is playing, so that what you see is what you save.

How to save volume settings to a media file ?

Select from the Theatre popup menu to bring the Main module to the front. Then adjust the main volume for your karaoke show (guess where the volume slider is) and click on the image to send the Main module to the back again.

Select from the Theatre popup menu to save your volume settings to the audio file. Note that volume settings should be saved when the media file is playing, so that what you hear is what you save.

Now select from the Theatre popup menu to close the Theatre and stop the audio playing using the button on the Main panel.

Double-click the audio file in the playlist (or just open the Theatre) again to start your preset karaoke show. Not that difficult, right ?

Note that the font size of lyrics will be auto-adjusted if the image size is re-adjusted when the media file is playing, and if the karaoke show is in full-screen mode, the preset image size will have no effect.

How to create Video Karaoke Show ?

Now, you may want to know: "Is it that easy to create Video Karaoke Show ?" The answer is certainly "Yes".

As before, add the same audio file into the playlist, so we have one for "image karaoke" and one for "video karaoke", and if lyrics is not embedded in the audio file, attach the same lyrics file to the audio file using the Media File Settings Editor. But this time we don't attach an image file but a video file instead. In the Video page of the Media File Settings Editor as shown below, use the Browse button to select a video file from your hard disk to attach to your audio file.

Remember to select Show video lyrics in the Video page and set the Theatre (Karaoke Emulator) to open automatically in the Execute page.

Select from the Theatre popup menu to open Video Screen Controller as shown at the rignt to adjust your video screen settings if you are not satisfied with it.

How to create Animation Karaoke Show ?

Animation Karaoke Show can be created with nearly the same procedures as image / video karaoke show. This time, we attach a system animation file instead of an image / video file to the same audio file through the Animation page of the Media File Settings Editor as shown below.

If lyrics is not embedded in the audio file, remember to attach the same lyrics file to the audio file through the Lyrics page and set the Theatre (Karaoke Emulator) to open automatically in the Execute page.

Select from the Theatre popup menu to open Animation Options as shown at the rignt to adjust the speed of your animation if you are not satisfied with it.

Animation settings (except the location and the name of the animation file) can't be saved directly to a media file in the playlist, but user can modify and save the settings to a new animation file through Animation Options, and then attach the new animation file using the Browse button in the Animation page of the Media File Settings Editor.

Follow the LRC Lyrics Producing Tutorial to create your own lyrics file using the Lyrics Editor when you become a more experienced user.

Tutorial for beginner is still under construction. You should come back often to check for new updates. There are a lot of things for you to play around with. Have fun !
